Auxiliary Chemical Reagents Preparation in a Chemical-Physical Plant

This is a clariflocculation plant with proportional chemical dosing. The plant maximum nominal flow rate is 6 m3/h.

The plant is composed of 3 separate dosing systems, with a volume of 500 litres each, for the preparation and dosing of aluminium sulphate (flocculation adjuvant), sodium bicarbonate and sodium hypochlorite.

PRO-DO-MIX’s proposal are 2 fast direct mixers, model ADH.03131.P.100/E for sodium bicarbonate and sodium hypochlorite preparation) and a slow mixer, model AVP.02022.Q.100 (for aluminium sulphate preparation).

The slow geared mixer AVP.02022.Q.100 drive unit is composed of a 0.25 kW motor and a worm gearbox. The 4PBT45° pitched impeller, efficient and cost-effective, is perfectly suitable for small chemical preparations. The mixer’s wetted parts are made of SS 304L.

The fast direct mixers ADH.03131.P.100, with 0.37 kW motor and marine propeller, have wetted parts made of PP, as well as a special PP flange, to prevent the vapours from the liquid in the tank to damage the mixer’s motor.

The mixers have special motors 380 Volts / 60 Hz, suitable for operation in a tropical climate area and over 1500 metres elevation above sea level.

Furthermore, PRO-DO-MIX have been requested to include the tanks in the supply. We have manufactured 3 PE-HD tanks with mounting base plate 15° inclined, ad hoc designed for agitator installation.

PRO-DO-MIX provided also a static mixer, KENICS model 1.5-KME-PVC-6 flanged DN40 PN10, used for sodium hypochlorite dosing prior to entering the clariflocculator.
