Agitators for reactors

In the chemical and pharmaceutical sectors, the batch reactor is used at different stages to carry out various chemical reactions in an alternating way, by following a typical filling-reaction-emptying cycle.

A vertical agitator is positioned inside the reactor which serves the purpose of facilitating the chemical reaction, often carried out according to certain and meticulously calculated reaction times and for which vigorous agitation is required.

Given the delicate nature of the procedures, it is also important to always keep temperature and pressure values under control, which is why mechanical seals are very often installed to allow the pressure to be kept constant or not to disperse the dangerous gases contained internally.

The finishing of the surfaces in contact with the liquid of the agitators is also fundamentally important: in the pharmaceutical industry, mirror-finish polishing with Ra <0.5 is often required.

Some PRO-DO-MIX® vertical agitators installed in Batch Reactors are shown in the gallery.

Pitched Blade Agitator

It is widely used in a broad range of applications due to its efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Within Water Treatment, pitched blade impellers are perfect for polyelectrolyte preparation and maturation, primary neutralization and pH adjustment.

It can be manufactured with different diameters, 200 to 2000 mm.

A completely disassemblable option is available as well, to ease the entering through the tank manhole.
