A 19-year-old with a mechanical diploma in his pocket, a father skilled in turning, and a small warehouse in the Veneto region of Italy. That’s how the story of PRO-DO-MIX® begins. It’s 2000, and Roberto – now the company’s founder and owner – has just finished school. Music and environment are on his mind, not the idea of starting a business. Yet the next day, he’s at the accountant with his recently retired father to register for a VAT number. And so, PRO-DO-MIX® was born.
With a rented workshop, they dive straight into work, offering mechanical services and building the first vertical agitators. The first orders come in, thanks to his father’s technical experience and the noticeable quality of their products. Clients start to grow organically: first across Veneto, then into Lombardy.
Word of mouth works well, supported by an unconventional sales approach through trade fairs and even the Yellow Pages.
Before long, Roberto recognizes the potential of the mixing sector for water treatment plants. It’s time to make a choice: specialization. Their goal becomes clear: to be known as “the vertical agitator people.”
In the early 2000s, they mostly worked with small municipal and industrial treatment plants. As more complex orders start coming in, Roberto realizes that craftsmanship alone is no longer enough. He needs advanced design tools and the ability to create custom agitators tailored to the specific requirements of each plant.
This marks the beginning of a new chapter for PRO-DO-MIX®. In 2010, with a solid customer base, the company took a significant step forward in both product and service quality. They adopt advanced software to design high-efficiency agitators and impellers based on actual tank specifications. The team also grows, with the addition of specialized technical staff. It’s a turning point: craftsmanship meets engineering.
In 2012, the company was ready to take on international markets, starting with IFAT in Munich. From that point on, PRO-DO-MIX® establishes long-term partnerships with clients across the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe. It’s the start of a period of rapid growth. In just a few years, the company multiplies its revenue and team, maintaining a pragmatic and efficient approach. PRO-DO-MIX® became a benchmark in the design and production of vertical agitators, expanding into other key sectors like chemicals and Oil & Gas, where the company now boasts numerous successful projects.
Today, PRO-DO-MIX® is a team of 25 people, with a cutting-edge design department, an in-house workshop capable of manufacturing every component, and clients all over the world, serving increasingly demanding markets with ever-higher standards.
Each agitator that leaves our workshop is a fine balance between mechanical expertise, design know-how, and a deep understanding of customer needs. Because every tank is different, and every process requires a dedicated solution. But one thing has never changed in the years: every morning, before stepping into the office, Roberto takes his usual walk through the workshop. The workshop has grown and the projects have multiplied, but the feeling remains the same.
