The MDF (Medium-Density Fiberboard) production sector requires high-efficiency and sustainable processes to ensure a quality final product. In this context, Wotech, an Egyptian pioneering leader in eco-friendly MDF panel production, chose PRO-DO-MIX® vertical agitators to optimize their production process.

The client needed to mix certain compounds necessary for MDF production using vertical agitators. Fluid mixing is a key operation in numerous industrial processes to ensure efficiency, including economically. For this reason, Wotech relied on Petrojet as their EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) partner, who selected PRO-DO-MIX® through an international tender.
The system includes 7 mixing tanks, each holding 32m³ of product necessary for MDF production.
One of the main challenges was the need to maintain the product under constant pressure and temperature while ensuring operational continuity and reduced energy consumption. To meet Wotech’s specific requirements, we designed and supplied the client with 7 vertical agitators with triple high-efficiency impellers, guaranteeing optimal performance even with variable product levels in the tanks. Despite the considerable shaft length (3400mm) and the stress and vibration generated by fluid level variations, we managed to provide the client – as requested – with a solution without bottom bushing, drastically reducing maintenance requirements.
Each agitator was equipped with high-quality heavy-duty components to ensure continuous and reliable operation, and with a single mechanical seal to maintain the design pressure into the tank. The motor power was optimized to only 1.5kW for each agitator, ensuring extremely low energy consumption and high performance.
The implementation of this project was possible thanks to close collaboration with our Egyptian distributor, who was essential from both commercial and technical perspectives for the installation.
